Granola!  

3 lb box of Quaker Oats (old fashioned)
2 cups shredded coconut
2 cups untoasted wheat germ
1 lb. brown sugar
1 cup honey
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup cooking oil (canola pref.)
1 to 2 cups untoasted sesame seeds
(Flax seed, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds maybe added if you like)
1 to 2 cups walnuts (or almonds, cashews)
2 to 4 tabls. vanilla
2 to 4 tabls. cinnamon
1 box raisins
1 box chopped dates
2/3rd cup brewer's yeast

Mix all of the above ingredients together except for the yeast and the dried fruits and nuts in a large roasting pan and bake in a very slow oven (250 degrees) for two hours, stirring every 30 mins. or so. Add the fruits, yeast and nuts the last 30 mins.

Hint: heat the honey, oil and vanilla before mixing it in with the rest. It's easier to handle.

This makes a "very" large batch. You may want to halve the recipe. Be creative. Leave out what doesn't appeal to you and add what you like best.
